The Italian Supreme Court, with its judgment no.22406/11, has held that in the event that a vehicle does a u-turn and has failed to give priority to a vehicle arriving in the other direction, the driver of the latter is not guilty of failing to observe the safety distance provided for under article 149 of the Italian Highway Code when colliding with the other vehicle.
